A life insurance company may deny your life insurance claim for many reasons. Some of the common reasons are:

1) Material misrepresentation - This is where an insurance company reviews the policy application and the insured's medical history after death to see whether all of the answers on the application were accurate.

2) Failure to pay premiums - If the insurance company doesn't get premiums in time, they could try to deny a claim because of non-payment of premiums. However, some policies allow grace periods, or waiver of premiums depending on the condition of the insured.

3) Exclusion - A life insurance policy may have several exclusions. A life insurance company may try to argue that the policy did not apply to the specific cause of death.
